But the latter two might work better at doing it AFTER the images are in Lr. Mylio can also do it. Some of the duplicate finders/ingesters can also do it, like PhotoSweeper or Snapselect. Or do a selection of the 4-rated images and drag-drop those onto Lr, which would import them.Īside from Photo Mechanic, you can rate, copy, move and so on with Adobe Bridge, which you'd be able to get if you have Lr. A work around is to move the 4-rated images into another folder at the ingestion process or thereafter. Then Lr reads all that when it imports.īut it sounds like you want to have all the photos ingested/copied to your Mac, and then only import a subset of those already copied images into Lr, right? I'm not sure there's a way for Lr to do that directly in its import module. ![]() It can rate, label, keyword, assign all kinds of metadata as it ingests/copies to your desktop. Let me understand: you want to rate all images BEFORE importing into Lr.Įssentially an alternative ingestion process off an iPhone and card. Also, "run Fast Picture Viewer in a Windows simulator" is also unattractive.Īny help much appreciated. I need to have fast RAW loading and zooming. "Preview in Lightroom" is not a good answer since it's too slow with RAW files. My workflow treats the iPhone like a second DSLR: Same folder, same viewer/rating software, same editing software. Has anyone figured out how to do preview/assign star ratings to stand alone RAW and JPG files on a Mac? I'm assuming that I'm not the only person in the world who shoots family/friends/school with a DSLR in one hand and an iPhone in the other. I've been unable so far to rate JPGs on my Mac using Fast Raw Viewer, the closest equivalent software I can find. On my PC I used Fast Picture Viewer to preview and rate both RAW and JPG files. My workflow: Copy all files from a shoot into a labeled folder > Preview and assign star ratings to a mix of RAW and JPG > Import 4 star or better to Lightroom > Edit > Export > Upload (not RAW+JPG, but stand alone RAW and stand alone JPG). Here is my problem: I've switching from PC to Mac and I'm unable to find Mac software that can assign star ratings to both RAW and JPG files. I shoot both RAW (Nikon D610 + Sony RX100) and JPG (iPhone).
